Jammu, July 28: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla on Sunday asserted the party’s commitment to addressing national challenges and advocating for the well-being of all citizens.
Bhalla, according to a statement, addressed a meeting with party workers at Ward-29 Block-3 West Constituency, Subash Nagar. The event, organized by District Jammu President Th Manmohan Singh, featured prominent party figures including Vice President and Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Vice President Rajnish Sharma Mian, and General Secretaries Satish Sharma, Shashi Sharma, Adv Suresh Dogra, among others.
Bhalla said, “The adverse situation in Jammu and Kashmir is due to the anti-people policies of the current government.” He said the Congress Party has played a historical role in alleviating the suffering of the public and urged party workers to actively engage in understanding and addressing the pain faced by the people.
The Congress leader criticized the BJP governments at both the Centre and in J&K for exacerbating issues such as inflation, unemployment, and rising prices of essential commodities, including petrol, diesel and cooking gas.
He expressed concern over the government’s approach to employment, alleging that there is nepotism and favoritism in job recruitment which have left candidates struggling to secure appointments.
Bhalla assured that the Congress party, with its long-standing commitment to “pro-poor” and “pro-oppressed” policies, will continue to fight for the rights of the marginalized and ensure their upliftment. He highlighted the party’s efforts in the past to protect job rights in district cadre posts and also the current plight of refugees and poor farmers under the present dispensation.
The JKPCC leader said the BJP lacks a clear vision and is “misleading” the youth and unemployed individuals. “Congress has consistently protected the interests of all societal sections, particularly the downtrodden, and has ensured their participation in all aspects of life, including political empowerment,” he said.
He said the unemployment crisis has reached new heights, with many educated youths struggling to find jobs despite their parents’ significant investments in their education.
“There are unprecedented price rises and heavy taxation under the BJP government, which has brought immense hardship to the poor, common man, educated unemployed and daily wage earners. The Congress Party would work to reverse the detrimental policies of the current administration and introduce people-friendly, pro-poor policies in Jammu & Kashmir,” he assured.
