Jammu, June 24: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit chief Manish Sahni on Monday said the party’s support base is rapidly increasing.
“Due to raising voice on local issues and rights of sons of the soil, the party is becoming the first choice of local people in Kashmir Valley along with Jammu,’ he said in a statement.
According to the statement, in a program organized under the leadership of Kashmir in-charge Malik Bashir in Handwara, district Kupwara, as instructed by state chief Manish Sahni, BJP leader Tariq Ahmed Rather, along with dozens of his supporters, joined Shiv Sena. Malik Bashir welcomed the new members by presenting them with the party symbol. Tariq Ahmed was appointed as the spokesperson for the Kashmir division, while Manzoor Ahmed Sofi was appointed as the president of district Kupwara.
The new entrants were urged to engage with the local community and raise their voices on public issues according to the party manifesto. The event was attended by Vice President Mushtaq Ahmed Bhatt, Youth President Manzoor Ahmed Ghani, General Secretary Imran Jargar, and Secretary Javid Ahmed.
Sahni expressed optimism about the party’s growth, attributing it to its commitment to addressing local concerns and championing the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
