Kulgam, Dec 22: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Kulgam issued a stern warning to private educational institutions on Friday, after complaints about schools flouting winter break guidelines and conducting classes despite the official winter break.
Such actions are a gross violation of government orders and the uniform academic calendar, according to the order.
The order states that numerous complaints have been received, indicating that many private educational institutions are continuing their schooling activities despite the announcement of winter vacation from November 28, 2023, as per the DSEK Srinagar Order No. 310 DSEK of 2023, dated November 25, 2023. Additionally, reports suggest that some schools are initiating the admission process for the new academic session, which constitutes a serious breach of government orders and the uniform academic calendar.
In light of these concerns, the order instructs all recognized private schools operating in the district to cease such practices immediately and adhere to government rules and orders to avoid disciplinary action. The Zonal Level Committees, as per the office order no. CEO/K/Pot/7621-24/23, dated December 16, 2023, are entrusted with ensuring the implementation of government orders in their administrative jurisdiction. They are specifically directed to focus on the aforementioned issues and recommend cases, if any, to the CEO’s office for further strict disciplinary action daily.
Furthermore, the order explicitly states that the registration of private schools found guilty of violating the mentioned orders from the Directorate will be cancelled.
