Jammu, Jul 14: A batch of 73 students of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu and Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, completed their summer internship at the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI).
A total of 43 students from the Government Sri Pratap Memorial Rajput College of Commerce (SPMR), Jammu, and 30 students from Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jamm,u underwent a 10-day (60-hour) internship, which commenced on June 2, 2025, at Bari Brahmana campus of the institute.
As per National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines, the internship program was aimed at developing the entrepreneurial and research acumen among students, research aptitude and teamwork skills. It included hands-on activities and interactive sessions aimed at giving students a real-world experience of business and startups.
Key highlights of the programme included business simulation exercises, startup ecosystem orientation, business idea generation workshops, research assignments, SWOT analysis sessions, and market surveys. These activities helped the students develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and practical insights into how businesses are planned, launched, and sustained.
The programme aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, fostering a spirit of innovation and self-reliance among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
