36th Poonch District Volleyball Championship concludes at Sports Stadium Poonch

Poonch, Nov 03: The 36th Poonch District Volleyball Championship, organized by the District Volleyball Association Poonch under the aegis of the J&K Volleyball Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded on Tuesday at the Sports Stadium Poonch.
The two-day championship featured nine teams in the men’s section and four teams in the women’s section, competing in a knockout format. In the men’s final, SMS Club emerged victorious over Young Heroes Club with a nail-biting score of 25-20, 21-25, and 16-14. In the women’s category, SMS Club outperformed Khelo India Centre Poonch to claim the championship title.
District Treasury Officer Shafiq Malik (KAS) graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest, while AEE Jal Shakti Mohd Shakeel attended as the guest of honor. The final matches were officiated by D.K. Raina (PET) and Ghulam Abbas (PET).
Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Nirdosh Kumar Sharma (In-charge, Sports Stadium Poonch), Prem Prakash Luthra, Ram Prakash (Ground Incharge), and Neeraj Sharma (Coach). The championship was planned and executed under the supervision of Neeraj Sharma and D.K. Raina.
The tournament showcased the exceptional talent of volleyball players in the region, fostering sportsmanship and community engagement.
