3 players from JK to participate in ISF Stair-climbing World C’ship

Srinagar, Oct 19: Three players from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected for the ISF 2022 Stairclimbing World Championships to be held in Dubai, UAE from 12th to 18th November.
The three players including Sahil Bashir from Bandipora, Adnan Bashir from Sopore, and Nabila Khan from Srinagar have been selected for the championship.
Secretary General J&K Skyrunning Association, Bashir Ahmad Wani told Rising Kashmir that it is a proud moment for J&K that three players will represent us at ISF 2022 Stairclimbing World Dubai Championship.
“All three players are excellent in their respective areas. I hope that all of them will shine in the international arena and will bring laurels to the valley,” he said.
Wani said these players are our future and they need sponsorship for the international event. Hope sports lovers would help them pursue their dream, he said.
Bashir stated that the trio bagged medals in the 4th national sky-running championship covering a distance of 2000 meters in the championship.
Sahil Bashir will be playing in the senior category and he has participated 6 times in district championship 4 times in state championship as well as national level championship.
“My coach Tahir Mir trained me for five years then I got this opportunity. I have been working very hard to get this opportunity,” Sahil said, adding that he had already won many gold medals at national level championships.
Adnan has also participated four times in district Championships, four times in State level and National championships with six gold medals in his kitty.
Similarly, 14 years old Nabila Khan will also participate in the junior category in the championship. She has remained twice, first position holder in national championships.
