Srinagar, March 13: The second day of the highly anticipated 71st B.N. Mullik Memorial All India Police Football Tournament featured 14 matches at four different venues, showcasing an electrifying display of athleticism, sportsmanship, and passion for the game.
With each team determined to secure a spot in the next round of the competition, the matches were fiercely contested, with several thrilling moments that had spectators on the edge of their seats. The venues included Synthetic Turf Ground, Polo Ground, Bakshi Stadium & Kashmir University.
At Synthetic Turf Ground, DySP Sports APHQ Kuldeep Hundoo was the Chief Guest of the event, and the matches were played between West Bengal Police Vs Chandigarh Police, J&K Police Vs Bihar Police, CRPF Vs Chhattisgarh Police, & Assam Rifles Vs Meghalaya Police. West Bengal Police won the match against Chandigarh Police with a score of 3:0. J&K Police won against Bihar Police with a score of 2:0. Both teams played an aggressive and fast-paced style of football, with each side making several attempts to score. However, it was the J&K Police team that managed to break through the opposition’s defense and won the game.
CRPF won the match against Chhattisgarh Police with a thrilling score of 11:0. Meghalaya Police won the match against Assam Rifles with a score of 1:0.
At Polo Ground, Dy, Commandant IRP 8th Bn was the chief guest of the event. The matches were played between Odisha Police Vs ITBP, Punjab Police Vs Telangana Police, Jharkhand Police Vs Madha Pradesh Police & Haryana Police Vs Delhi Police. The match between Odisha Police Vs ITBP ended in a draw as both teams couldn’t score any goals. Punjab Police won against Telangana Police with a score of 4:1. Jharkhand Police won against Madha Pradesh Police with a score of 2:0. Delhi Police won against Harayana Police with a score of 5:1.
At Bakshi Stadium, Manager J&K Sports Council Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar was the chief of the event, and the matches were played between CISF Vs Maharashtra Police & Assam Police Vs Goa. The match between CISF Vs Maharashtra Police ended with 2:2. However, neither team scored the winning goal, and the match ended in a draw. The match between Assam Police Vs Goa also ended in a draw with a goalless score.
At Kashmir University Ground, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal was the chief guest of the event. The matches were played between SSB Vs Sikkim Police, Mizoram Police Vs Gujarat Police, Kerala Police Vs Arunachal Pradesh & Tamil Nadu Vs Manipur Police. The match between SSB Vs Sikkim Police ended in a draw with a final score of 1:1. Both teams tried their best to secure a win. Kerala Police won against Arunachal Pradesh with a score of 2:0. Mizoram Police won against Gujarat Police with a score of 9:1. The match between Tamil Nadu Vs Manipur Police ended in a draw with a final score of 1:1.
