Amaravati, Feb 15: Vitopia 2024, the highly anticipated annual sports and cultural spectacle, kicked off on Thursday at the VIT-AP University campus in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The event, according to the organizers, promises a unique fusion of cultural vibrancy and sporting excellence, setting it apart as a standout occasion in the festival landscape.
The sports festivities of Vitopia will span until February 23, with the grand launch taking place today. Following the athletic competitions, a thrilling two-day cultural extravaganza is scheduled for February 24 and 25, featuring the participation of esteemed celebrities from the film and sports industries.
Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor of VIT-AP University, addressed the enthusiastic gathering, highlighting the significance of events like Vitopia. He emphasized the role of such gatherings in providing a common platform for students from diverse backgrounds to showcase their talents and excel in both sports and cultural activities.
The event has drawn participation from hundreds of students representing various universities and colleges across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, converging at VIT-AP University to partake in the festivities.
Dr. Jagadish Chandra, Registrar of VIT-AP University, underscored the pivotal role sports play in shaping students’ lives. He stressed the importance of a holistic approach to education, integrating both academic and extracurricular activities. Vitopia 2024, he said, offers an exceptional platform for students to hone their skills and broaden their horizons through sports.
Dr. Sudhakar Ilango (Convener – Vitopia 24), Dr. Khadeer Pasha (Deputy Director – Student Welfare), and Dr. Rama Chandra Rao (Physical Education Director), were present at the program and contributed to the successful launch of Vitopia 2024.
