Srinagar, Feb 15: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered FIRs against an Inspector and Head Constable on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
The ACB in a statement said, “FIR No.01/2024 under section 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, has been lodged at PS Central Branch of ACB Jammu against Inspector (S) Ameet Kumar Koul. This action follows the outcome of a Secret Verification, suggesting that the officer may possess assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.”
The bureau further said that FIR No.02/2024 under section 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) of the PC Act has been filed at Police Station ACB Jammu against Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma. This decision comes after an enquiry into allegations that the official has amassed disproportionate assets compared to his income, it said.
“As part of the investigation, searches were conducted at the residential premises of both officials and business establishments linked to Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma. Incriminating documents and valuables were seized during these searches for further investigation,” the ACB said, adding that both cases are under active investigation, and additional inquiries are ongoing.
