Srinagar, Nov 21: Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Haji Hanifa Jan on Thursday said the youth have a pivotal role to play in achieving the vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.
“India’s youth represent the country’s most valuable asset,” Jan said after inaugurating the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue as part of the National Youth Festival 2025 at the SAI Centre Kargil.
He said Ladakh’s youth have showcased their excellence at national and international levels. By providing better opportunities, we can help them unlock even greater potential, he added.
The event marked a significant step toward empowering youth and fostering their active participation in the nation’s development journey.
Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for greater youth involvement, the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue is a reimagined platform under the Ministry of Youth Affairs. It aims to harness the collective energy of India’s youth, empowering them to contribute holistically to the country’s growth.
The programme featured an interactive session, where participants shared their concerns and queries. Experts, including MP Haji Hanifa Jan, former Director of Youth Services and Sports Haji Mirza Hussain, and international Taekwondo player Mohd Ali, addressed these queries.
Other attending the programme included Director Sports GDC Kargil Murtaza Ali, Abdul Hamid from DYSSO Kargil, Incharge SAI Ghulam Mustafa, Taekwondo Coach Parveen Kumar and youth leader Syed Raza. They applauded the initiative and encouraged youth to actively participate in shaping their future.
