Pulwama, Sep 09: A high-profile team of experts from the World Bank embarked on a significant visit to KVK/ETC Malangpora Pulwama this Saturday, leaving a trail of praise for the remarkable agricultural endeavors underway.
The delegation, accompanied by Prof. D.M. Makhdoomi, Director Extension SKUAST-K, and Dr. M.N. Khan, Professor, College of Agricultural Engineering, were received by Dr. Javeed A Mugloo, Prof. & Head KVK/ETC Pulwama.
Upon their arrival at the KVK Campus, the team embarked on a comprehensive field visit, meticulously examining all the demonstration units, which encompassed Horticulture, Field Crops, Dairy Units, Medicinal Plants, Fish Ponds, Saffron Plots, Poultry and Duck Units. The experts expressed their utmost satisfaction with the remarkable teamwork and the relentless efforts executed by KVK Scientists in maintaining these units at their prime.
Furthermore, the World Bank delegation commended the scientists for their exceptional efforts in showcasing cutting-edge technology through these demonstration units, aiming to inspire more rural educated youth to consider Agri-entrepreneurship as a viable employment opportunity.
The interaction with the scientists of the Kendra was described as vibrant and fruitful, with in-depth discussions on various emerging areas for the betterment of the farming community. Bekzod Shamsiev, senior Agriculture Economist, who engaged extensively with the scientists, characterized KVK Pulwama as a shining example of an ideal KVK for technology demonstration to end users.
The two-member World Bank team, consisting of Bekzod Shamsiev, senior Agriculture Economist, and World Bank Task Team Leader Arvind Jhamb, a World Bank Consultant, is presently on a two-day visit to SKUAST-K to review the progress of university activities under the World Bank-ICAR funded NAHEP initiative. The primary objective of the visit is to explore potential collaborations with the university, specifically in the development of horticulture and other agricultural business sectors in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K police to organise Run for peace event in Srinagar
Registration counters for the event being established at nine places in Srinagar, Jammu
Srinagar, Sep 09: Jammu and Kashmir Police is organizing “Run for Peace” Kashmir Marathon, on October 02, under its Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Srinagar.
The event shall be organized at Police Golf Course Lake View Environmental Training Park Boulevard Road Srinagar.
Registration Counters for the event are being established at S.K. Indoor Stadium, Srinagar Lalit Ghat No: -21, Gindun Sports Centre Rajbagh, Kashmir University, Nehru Park Ghat No:-16, Police Public School Bemina in Srinagar. In Jammu, the counters are being established at Gulshan Ground Jammu, M.A. Stadium Jammu, Jammu University.
All the interests’ athletes/persons are informed to get themselves registered for the event through these counters from September 10 to September 30-2023. Further details regarding the event shall be shared in comming days.
