Srinagar, Dec 31: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Lal Chowk, Ahsan Pardesi on Tuesday conducted an extensive visit to the iconic SPS Library and reaffirmed his commitment to preserving and enhancing the region’s intellectual heritage.
Stressing the vital role libraries play in fostering knowledge and critical thinking, Pardesi said libraries are not merely buildings filled with books; they are the cornerstone of an enlightened and progressive society.
During his visit, he interacted with staff and visitors and called upon students to develop a regular reading habit, which he described as essential for personal and academic growth.
The MLA assured that comprehensive measures would be undertaken to upgrade and modernise the library to ensure it meets the evolving needs of readers in the digital age.
“Steps will be taken to equip this library with state-of-the-art facilities while preserving its historical essence,” Pardesi said, calling for collective efforts to make SPS Library a vibrant hub of knowledge and innovation for the region.
