Budgam, Dec 04: As a precursor to My Town, My Pride 2.0, series of activities were taken under Jan Abhiyan on Sunday in all six municipalities of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
During the campaign, different departments participated in the program, where the general public was given information about public welfare schemes.
The focus remained on public delivery services, grievances, and hassle-free developments for all sectors of society.
Awareness rallies regarding garbage free, the ban on single-use plastic, sports activities, and plantation drives were also continued in these six municipalities.
Hundreds of people, including traders, transporters, and students, attended the programme, where officers from various concerned departments apprised them about their public welfare and self-employment schemes.
On December 2, the Jan Abhiyaan programme was also conducted at Town Hall Magam in the presence of the Deputy Director of Tourism, the President, and Nodal Officer MC Magam, where all departments participated in this event.
On December 4, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, S. F. Hamid, chaired Shehri Jan Abhiyan under the ongoing ambitious My Town, My Pride (MTMP) programme at Townhall Beerwah.
Speaking at the outset, the DC said that the ambitious MTMP programme has been started under the vision of the Prime Minister of India and the guidance of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to bring government to the doorsteps of the people and get real-time feedback from them to bring improvement in governance.
He said that people from all urban areas are turning up in good numbers and attending these Jan Abhiyan programmes being held across all six municipalities in Budgam.
