Varmul Gindo Sports Festival : Kabaddi & Rugby Tournaments Conclude in Baramulla

Srinagar, July 9: As part of the Varmul Gindo Sports Festival 2025, Kabaddi and Rugby tournaments concluded Wednesday at Indoor Sports Stadium and Professor Showkat Ali Stadium, Baramulla. The mega sporting event was held in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council and the Dagger Division.A statement issued here said that in the Kabaddi girls’ final, KIC Shadipora defeated KIC Handwara by a margin of 17 points. The Sub-Junior Boys Kabaddi title was secured by Khelo India Centre Shadipora, overcoming KIC Handwara by 12 points. In the Boys’ Rugby final, Nadihal Rugby Club triumphed over DJ Sports Rugby Club Tujjar Sopore with a 5-1 try scoreline, while in the Girls’ final, Pattan Rugby Club claimed victory against GMET Sopore by 4-1 tries.Zahoor Ahmad, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Baramulla, presided as the Chief Guest. Haji Khursheed Ahmad (ZPEO Baramulla) and Khazir Muhammad Ganie, Coordinator of Varmul Gindo 2025, were present as Guests of Honour. The event was further graced by the presence of distinguished personalities such as Umar Rashid (NIS Kabaddi Coach), Firdous Ahmed (Kabaddi Coach KIC Shadipora), Nahida Nabi (Kabaddi Coach KIC Handwara), Arshad Ahmad (Incharge Harmukh Sports Academy Bandipora), Faizan Qayoom (Founder of SPORTS J&K 24×7) and National Kabaddi stars Umar Nazir, Waseem Raja Bhat, Moin Hameed Wani and Kabaddi Lala Tarzoo. Their presence added great value to the closing ceremony.
