Srinagar, Feb 25: Jammu & Kashmir National Conference General Secretary and MLA Khanyar Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar on Tuesday said the upcoming budget of the government led by Omar Abdullah will lay the foundation for progress and development in the next decade.
He made these remarks while interacting with the public and individual delegations at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha here.
“He (Sagar) echoed the sentiments of the visiting delegations regarding the significant development setbacks the region has faced over the past decade. He emphasised that the upcoming budget, presented by Omar Abdullah, will pave the way to rectify these setbacks by laying a firm foundation with a key focus on public welfare,” the party said in a statement issued here.
Sagar, according to the statement, said each and every promise laid out in the manifesto will be upheld, as the party has been entrusted with a five-year mandate to do so.
He added, “The upcoming budget is poised to serve as a remedy for the hardships and struggles brought about by the misguided policies of past administrations post-2014. Every sector will be given the necessary attention, with a primary focus on public welfare, job creation, and infrastructure development. The health and education sectors will undergo significant improvements to accommodate the growing population. Civic amenities and utility services will be modernised, while transportation, agriculture, and related industries will be prioritised.”
