Srinagar, May 5: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have suspended two teachers after they were found absent without permission during a surprise school inspection in Rajouri district.
The inspection took place at Middle School Chaprandar in Zone Thannamandi at around 9:30 am on Tuesday. During the visit, officials discovered that teachers Mohd Imran and Shareen Dar were not present at the school and had not taken prior approval for their absence.
Officials termed the incident a serious lapse in duty and a clear violation of service rules. Acting swiftly, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri ordered their immediate suspension under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules.
During the suspension period, both teachers will receive a subsistence allowance as per government norms. Mohd Imran has been temporarily attached to Middle School Namblan in Rajouri, while Shareen Dar has been posted to High School Manyal in Thannamandi.
Meanwhile, the Head of Institution of Middle School Chaprandar has been asked to submit a detailed explanation within two days over the school’s poor functioning and lack of staff discipline. Authorities warned that failure to respond on time could lead to further strict action.
