Continuing its drive against the social crimes, Police on Thursday have arrested 02 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A Spokesperson said that acting on specific information regarding gambling activities in the jurisdiction of Police Post Mirbazar, a police party headed by Incharge PP Mirbazar raided the suspected gambling site at Furrah and apprehended 02 gamblers on the spot. They have been identified as Afroz Ahmad Tantray son of Abdul Rehman Tantray and Mohammad Rafiq Wani son of Gull Mohd Wani both residents of Furrah. Officers have seized stake money of Rs. 6800/- and a set of playing cards from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 16/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up”, he said.
