Police on Sunday arrested two gamblers, seized stake money and playing cards from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police post Humhama area of Budgam district.
A Police spokesperson said, “On a specific information about gambling activities near Salsabeel School Humhama in open Nambal Land, police party from police post Humhama headed by DO Humhama raided the gambling site and arrested two gamblers on spot.”
The gamblers were identified as Firdous Ali Pandit S/O Gh .Hassan Pandit R/o Ustad Mohalla Budgam and Farooq Ahmed Dar S/O Mohd Azim DAR R/o Banpora Humhama. Stake money of RS 5000-/ and Playing cards were seized from their possession.
“Accordingly, Case FIR No 32/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and further investigation set into motion”, he said.
