Srinagar, March 20: In an effort to attract more tourists to the Kashmir Valley, the Department of Tourism in Kashmir organized a spring festival at Badamwari on Monday. Thousands of people from across the country participated in the festival, which aimed to showcase the mesmerizing beauty of this prestigious garden and promote Kashmir tourism.

According to an official from the tourism department, the spring festival witnessed an overwhelming response from tourists as thousands of people flocked to this almond garden. The festival is celebrated annually at Badamwari with the goal of revitalizing the cultural scene and promoting tourism in Kashmir.

During the program, several cultural performances were held, featuring local artists showcasing various traditional art forms. The garden remained abuzz with tourists throughout the day, attracting thousands of visitors.

Abid Rashid, the Function Secretary for Tourism, highlighted the importance of organizing such events to revitalize cultural tourism in Kashmir. He said that the department is working tirelessly to make Kashmir a favorite destination for non-local and international tourists.

The Secretary of Tourism, who was also present at the festival, emphasized that Kashmir is an all-season destination, and the department is working towards upscaling its tourism offerings to make it more attractive to visitors. He revealed that more than 75 offbeat destinations will be developed this year, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The Department of Tourism plans to organize more events in the coming days, aimed at making Kashmir more beautiful and attractive to both local and outside tourists.

The secretary of tourism, in response to a query, stated that they are currently developing over 75 unique and unconventional destinations this year. The officer added that many of these sites are situated in areas with a rich cultural heritage, and will be developed throughout the course of the calendar year.
