Joint team of J&K Police and forest officials seized illicit timber in Hafrada area of North Kashmir’s Handwara, Officials said on Sunday.
A Police spokesperson said, “On March 18, 2023, following an information regarding illicit timber lying in the house of one person named Shabir Ahmad Sheikh S/O Gh Mohi Din R/O Hafrada, a joint team of PS Vilgam and forest officials raided the said location and recovered 98 numbers of illicit timber logs.”
“The timber was seized and a case FIR No.21/2023 U/S 379 IPC, 26 IF Act has been registered at PS Vilgam and investigation initiated”, he said.
