Snowland Cricket Tournament concludes in Kangan

Ganderbal, Aug 21:  T20 Cricket Tournament which was organised by Snowland hotel and resorts in collaboration with Kangan Cricket Board (KCB) concluded at Sheikh-ul-Alam Cricket Stadium in Kangan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal on Monday.
The final match was played between Royal Rangers Kangan and Starland Warriors in which Royal Rangers Kangan won by 6 wickets their opposite team.
Around 48 teams taking part in the Championship which is being played on league cum knockout basis.
Though the match was won by the better side but the fight was seen over the boundaries. Earlier, Starland Warriors had decided to bat first by winning the toss and giving their opponent a target of 201 runs in 20 overs which easily scored by the Royal Rangers Kangan.
On the occasion many personalities were invited of which General Secratary JK Sport’s Council Nuzhat Gull, Famous Cricketer Parvez Rasool, SDM Kangan Javid Ahmad SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan, SHO Kangan Turk Zahoor, DDC Kangan Tasmeena Adil Kapra, Tehsildar Kangan Dr. Haroon Rashid and other senior officers, besides the owners of Snowland hotel and Resorts Tariq Hafiz and Mayasar Hafiz and Chairman of Kangan Cricket Board (KCB) attended the closing ceremony as special chief guests.
In the end the winning side was honoured by a big Cup and Cash Prizes from the Chief Guest while Runners up also honoured by the Cash prize and a cup.
On the Occasion Parvez Rasool appreciates the Organising body, especially to the Tariq and Mayasar Hafiz By organising such events, it will be an inspiration for the young talent, he said. During my childhood days, we were hardly able to organise such events, but now the arena has totally changed, he said.
Organiser of this cricket tournament Tariq Hafiz said that the main aim was organising Such tournament by removing young people from drug addiction and attracting them to sports activity.
 
Talking to Media JK Sport’s Council Nuzhat Gull said JK Sport’s shall provide necessary facilities to boost cricket activities in Ganderbal district.
She urged students to take active part in other sports activities to hone their talent.
At the end of the match, the players media and officers were honoured by Snow land hotel and Resorts.
