Students represent J&K, showcase cultural heritage, win accolades
Jammu, April 02: NSS volunteers from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) actively participated in the National Integration Camp held at Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, from March 21 to March 27. Representing the Jammu and Kashmir contingent, Ujasvi Sharma and Praveen Giri demonstrated their talents at this prestigious national gathering.
A statement said that the week-long camp brought together 200 NSS volunteers from across the country, fostering cultural exchange, teamwork, and national unity. Participants engaged in fitness sessions, cultural and literary competitions, and academic lectures by esteemed speakers.
SMVDU’s Ujasvi Sharma made the university proud by securing second place in the dance competition. Volunteers also explored the Agricultural Garden and Museum, gaining insights into modern farming advancements, and visited Prasar Bharati All India Radio, Hisar, where they shared their camp experiences. Evening cultural programmes provided a platform for participants to showcase their state’s heritage through dance, music, and drama. Ujasvi and Praveen proudly represented Jammu and Kashmir’s vibrant traditions, earning appreciation from attendees. The NSS Programme Coordinator congratulated the volunteers for their dedication, while SMVDU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, lauded their efforts in bringing laurels to the university and upholding the true spirit of national integration.
