SMVDU carries out cleanliness drive

Katra, Jan 29: NSS SMVDU in collaboration with district administration Reasi carried out a cleanliness drive under the aegis of Swacch Bharat Mission. 
The drive was held to collect mainly plastic waste alongside the National Highway NH-144. A total of 15 teams were deputed by district administration Reasi to clean the Reasi-Katra highway in this drive. 
The NSS SMVDU team covered a total of 2.5 kilometers of distance during the drive. Around 80 kg of plastic waste was collected by the volunteers during the drive which lasted for around two hours with the participation of 30 volunteers. 
NSS Programme coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar also participated in the drive. Vice Chancellor, Prof. R. K. Sinha appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers.
