Srinagar, July 26: Srinagar Municipal Corporation Humhama Ward 33 launched a sanitation drive here on Wednesday. The drive that was kick started by Ward Officer Humhama Abdul Majeed from WawoosaRangreth and involved sanitary workers of the concerned ward.
The main thrust of the drive is to create awareness among general public regarding the use of dustbins and to do away with littering of surroundings, it said.
The cleanliness drive was taken up at Kite Colony, Wawoosa, Wani Mohalla, Main Old Airport Road and adjourning areas. All the filth and waste were cleared up and grass cutting was done at all these places during the drive. Bush cutters were pressed in service at some places.
The residents thanked SMC Humhama-33 ward officer and sanitation officer for their excellent work and hailed the initiative by SMC.
