SKUAST K conducts capacity building workshop for tribal’s

Srinagar, Oct 19: For socio economic upliftment of scheduled tribes under Vigyan/SEED division of DST sponsored project one day workhop was conducted for tribals of district Ganderbal.
Venue of the workshop was Naranag which is about 40 km from district head quarter Ganderbal. Objective of the workshop was too aware the ST’s residing in far flung areas about the use of indigenous and temperate floral wealth for socio economic upliftment.
The programme was attended by Dean faculty of Forestry Prof S A Gangoo, Dr Riyaz A Lone,Dr N H Masoodi and Dr Qazi Altaf Hussain, Mohd Rafiq Baba Assistant Registrar Cooperative Department along with his supervisory saff.Dr Riyaz A Lone ,Dr N H Masoodi and Dr Qazi Altaf Hussain interacted with the participants about the scope of tapping commercial floriculture for economic upliftent.
Beside this Dr S A Gangoo highlighted on wild floral wealth which can be explored for commercial utility. Around 100 participants were present on this occasion who appreciated initiative which is being supported by SEED Division of DST GOVT. OF India.
