Six SMVDU faculty ranked among top 2% scientists globally

Katra, Sept 22: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is proud to announce that six of its distinguished faculty members have been featured in Stanford University’s prestigious list of the Top 2% Scientists in the World.
This esteemed global ranking recognizes researchers who have made significant contributions to their fields based on standardized citation metrics, emphasizing their scientific impact. Dr. Vineet V Tyagi has achieved a remarkable feat by featuring in this ranking for the fifth consecutive year (2020-24), recognized in the overall category.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bharat Bhushan Jindal and Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq have maintained their ranks for the second time. The other SMVDU faculty members honored in this year’s list include Dr. Surendra Singh, Dr. Ankush Rain, and Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma.
These six faculty members have been recognized for their extensive research, high-impact publications, and significant contributions to advancing knowledge in their respective disciplines. This remarkable achievement not only elevates the global reputation of SMVDU but also highlights the university’s commitment to fostering a thriving research culture.
The recognized professors come from diverse fields such as Solar Thermal Energy Storage & Materials, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing and Electronics and Communication, showcasing SMVDU’s interdisciplinary excellence. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, expressed great pride in this recognition, stating, “We are incredibly proud of our faculty members who have earned this global distinction. Their dedication to excellence in research reflects SMVDU’s mission to advance knowledge and innovation for the betterment of society.”
The inclusion of SMVDU faculty in Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists list reaffirms the university’s dedication to academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and global collaboration. These faculty achievements continue to inspire both students and future researchers at SMVDU.
Stanford’s list is one of the most comprehensive evaluations of scientists worldwide, focusing on citation metrics and research influence. This ranking reinforces SMVDU’s efforts to lead in cutting-edge research, contributing to solutions for real-world challenges through innovation.
