Srinagar, June 15: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Kupwara Police has achieved a major success in the fight against terrorism by attaching the property (land) of a terrorist Almas Rizwan Khan, operating from Pakistan, on Thursday.
A police spokesperson said that Almas Rizwan Khan, operating from Pakistan, was originally a resident of Diver Lolab, and has been a persistent threat to the peace and security of Jammu and Kashmir UT since he ex-filtrated to Pakistan in the early 1990s.
“Rizwan Khan was earlier a part of TJI and now he works for TRF and has conspired many terrorist activities due to which many people in the valley have lost their lives.Jammu and Kashmir Police has been actively working with all its might to bring and end to his destructive activities,” he said.
The spokesman said following extensive intelligence gathering and meticulous investigations, many cases are registered against him under various sections at Police Station, Kupwara . A team of SIU Kupwara Police led to the identification and subsequent attachment of the terrorist’s property of land measuring 26 Kanals and 4 Marlas located at three different places in Diver Lolab of the district.
“This measure aims to disrupt his illicit network and restrict his ability to carry out further acts of terror. The attachment of the property serves as a strong message to terrorists and their supporters that their actions will not go unnoticed or unpunished,” he said.
The spokesman said it underscores the unwavering commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police in combating terrorism at its roots and dismantling its infrastructure.
