JAMMU, Jan 27: In a sigh of relief for the residents of Badhal Village in Rajouri, three patients admitted to two premier hospitals in Jammu were discharged on Monday after showing encouraging signs of recovery.
Among the discharged, two children were being treated at SMGS Hospital in Shalamar, Jammu, while an adult patient had been receiving care in the ICU ward of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H-Jammu) for the past several days. All three patients had been unwell and admitted for treatment.
According to Dr. Ashutosh, Principal of GMC, “One more patient from Badhal Village, currently undergoing treatment at PGI Chandigarh, is expected to be discharged tomorrow after showing signs of recovery. He will be transferred to GMC Jammu as part of the step-down policy.”
However, in line with government guidelines, none of the discharged patients will be allowed to return home immediately. Instead, all three have been transferred to GMC Rajouri for further observation.
“We have received all three patients at GMC Rajouri,” said AS Bhatia, Principal of GMC Rajouri. “They will remain under observation as per government policy and will only be allowed to go home after receiving expert reports.”
Meanwhile, 11 other patients from Badhal Village remain admitted at GMC Rajouri and are undergoing treatment. Bhatia confirmed that these patients are responding well to their treatment.
“None of the patients, even those who appear to be stable, will be allowed to go home until expert reports are received from reputed laboratories,” he added.
