Srinagar, Oct30: Jammu and Kashmir Handicapped Association in collaboration with Bookshare, M Junction, and Actor’s Creative Theatre (ACT) on Sunday organized a two-day training seminar for the ‘Visually Impaired’ students on “Android Accessibility” at Tagore Hall’s Conference Hall.
The organizers told Rising Kashmir that the Seminar is being conducted by Dr. Homiyar, Ms. Zainab Chinkawala, and Ms. Piya Nandi, in which they are providing training about basic Talkback, Reading and Writing Skills, Note-taking practice through phones, and training about easy reader book share

“On the first day of the training students were calibrated on various training modules and they also shared their experiences. Tomorrow, the 31st Oct 2022 will be the second and last day of training”, organizers said.
Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, one of the organizers on the occasion said that being a part of this two-day training seminar gives him immense satisfaction to stand with the specially challenged people, especially the youth.

“Conducting this kind of seminar will help the Visually Impaired to know how to use smartphones to their benefit. Today the technology for the visually impaired is so advanced that once they start using these gadgets they will be comfortable in communicating with the rest of people very easily”, he said.
