Srinagar, April 15: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the State Bank of India (SBI), Regional Business Office, Srinagar, Wednesday distributed 15 bicycles to academically and sports-wise meritorious girl students from economically weaker sections of the society. The recipients were selected from various government schools across Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam districts.
The distribution ceremony was graced by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr G.N. Itto, who attended as the chief guest, alongside SBI’s Regional Manager, Farooq Ahmad Zarger.
Dr Itto expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the Bank’s noble initiative and acknowledged SBI’s continued efforts in supporting social welfare, particularly within the education sector. He highlighted the positive impact such contributions have on empowering young girls and promoting education. He further assured the Regional Manager of DSEK’s full support in fostering future collaborations, including the development of business ties for the greater benefit of the community. The initiative reflects SBI’s commitment to inclusive development and its role in uplifting marginalised sections of society through meaningful community engagement.
