Anantnag, Apr 04: In order to finalise the sanitation plan for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJAY) 2023, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr S.M Ashraf on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the concerned officers.
The meeting was apprised by ACD that 1200 persons are required for the cleanliness of the halting stations and the yatra route. “We are going to hire the sweepers, sanitation workers, workers for segregation at source, besides the volunteers,” he said.
The ADC shared his previous year’s experience with the chair to make this year’s yatra more successful. He said that 26 sanitation centres are being mobilised during the yatra besides the services of NGOs and other stakeholders.
“No compromise will be made on the services being provided to the pilgrims and every effort must be taken well in advance to avoid any delay in services,” he said.
The line departments were directed for early implementation of their plans with regard to SANJAY 2023. The ADC said that the event being of national importance and sanitation and other services from the Navyug tunnel to the holy cave is the prime concern of the administration.
He advised the officers for early installation and inspection of the machinery and makeshift sanitary points. The meeting was attended by ACR, ACD, CEO MC Anantnag, ACP, BDO Pahalgam, EOs of MC Mattan, Qazigund, etc.
