Leh, Aug 22: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has officially commenced shooting for his upcoming film Battle of Galwan in the scenic terrains of Ladakh.A photograph of Salman Khan from the set has gone viral on social media, with Apoorva Lakhia, the film’s director, confirming the start of production through recent updates. The filmmaker described the project as “a heartfelt tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.”The film is inspired by the June 15, 2020, clash in the Galwan Valley, where Indian troops under the command of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu faced off against Chinese forces in eastern Ladakh.In the Battle of Galwan, Salman Khan portrays Colonel Santosh Babu, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India’s second-highest wartime gallantry award.
