Srinagar, Jul 08: People’s Conference President Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday conducted an extensive public outreach tour across several villages of north Kashmir’s Handwara constituency to strengthen grassroots engagement and reconnect with the people. The outreach covered a wide belt, including Punzwa A, Punzwa B, Punzwa C, Cheerkoot, Vilgam A, Duhama B, Duhama, Vilgam B, Phalmarg, Munzgam and Hachmarg. During the day-long visit, Lone met locals from all walks of life, listened to their grievances and assured timely intervention. “Politics is not about speeches from rooftops. It’s about walking through people’s streets, understanding their pain and standing by them. This outreach is our commitment to those who are unheard and unseen,” Lone said while addressing gatherings at various stops.Residents in these areas raised pressing concerns related to poor road infrastructure, erratic electricity supply, water scarcity, and lack of adequate healthcare and education facilities, according to a statement. Lone gave a patient hearing and said he would ensure that their issues are taken up at the appropriate forums. The MLA Handwara said, “Our endeavour is to shift the focus back to real issues — governance, development and dignity. Handwara has always been close to my heart, and I will continue to walk alongside my people until their voices are no longer ignored.”Locals welcomed the outreach, expressing gratitude for the effort and hoping it would translate into tangible development.
