Jammu, Oct 05: The Rainawari Kashmiri Pandit Action Committee (RKPAC) convened a condolence meeting on Thursday to honor the memory of the esteemed nationalist social worker, Madan Lal Khashu, who dedicated his life to the service of the nation and the promotion of Arya Samaj. The meeting was held in Rainawari, Srinagar, where Madan Ji had left an indelible mark on the community.
Madan Ji’s contributions to the nation and the Arya Samaj movement were celebrated during the event. B.L. Jalali, President of RKPAC, highlighted Madan Ji’s unwavering commitment to his principles, noting that he set new benchmarks for others to follow, especially during times of crisis. Madan Ji was a staunch RSS Swayamsewak and fearlessly raised his voice against the draconian emergency imposed by the Congress regime in 1975. His actions led to his dismissal from his teaching position at Tyndale Biscoe School, Srinagar, and he was even jailed for leading Satyagraha campaigns. Furthermore, he endured a three-year imprisonment in 1950 under Sheikh Abdullah’s regime for upholding Indian national interests in Kashmir.
Jalali also emphasized Madan Ji’s significant role in sensitizing youth and inspiring them to contribute to the nation’s development. He established a dedicated group of Swayamsewaks who continue to serve the nation in various capacities.
Dr. Mahesh Kaul, Co-ordinator of Arya Samaj Rainawari, spoke passionately about Madan Ji’s legacy as an institution builder and a staunch advocate of Sanatan Dharma. He underscored Madan Ji’s instrumental role in safeguarding and advancing Dharmic institutions in Rainawari, even during challenging times marked by jihadi subversion in Kashmir. Madan Ji’s close association with Arya Samaj Mandirs at Ghat Jogi Lanker, Rainawari, Motiyar, and DAV School Rainawari, as well as his founding contributions to the Vishwa Bharti Group of Institutions, further solidified his impact on the community.
Arya Samaj Rainawari reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and expanding the rich heritage of Vedic education and dissemination, aiming to restore the properties of Arya Samaj in Rainawari.
During the meeting, attendees chanted the Gayatri Mantra and observed two minutes of silence in remembrance of Madan Ji, praying for the peaceful journey of his departed soul. The event was a heartfelt tribute to a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to serving his nation and promoting the values of Arya Samaj.
