Jammu, May 09: Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) working president Raman Bhalla on Tuesday continued discussing the present political situation in J&K and party affairs with grassroots leaders in different areas of the Bahu constituency as a part of his mass contact program to mobilize public opinion against “wrong policies” of the BJP government.
According to a statement, Bhalla on the occasion asked the party cadre to “unitedly fight the anti-people and anti-youth policies of the ruling BJP and defeat their divisive agenda in Jammu & Kashmir to strengthen the party”. He asked them to gear up their activities keeping an eye on the forthcoming assembly elections.
“The future of this country is dark from the economic point of view and from the social point of view. The country had never been so undivided. The country is on the verge of seeing strife in the future,” he said, adding that the last highlight of the Modi government is “media management, propaganda, platitudes and acronyms”.
He blamed the government for failing to tackle prices and making life difficult for the common man. “There is a significant increase in poverty and hunger, rule of falsehood and injustice in the country. Whoever raises his or her voice has to bear the brunt of the government’s anger. The governments are elected to ease the burden of the people. The public grievances are mounting every day but the BJP government has remained unmoved,” he said.
Bhalla exhorted party leaders and workers to strengthen the Congress at the grassroots. He criticized the “misgovernance” of the BJP government due to which “the common masses are feeling cheated”.
He asked leaders to concentrate on their respective areas and be amongst the people to highlight their problems. He appreciated local leaders and cadres for their struggle and commitment to fight against the communal and divisive forces in Jammu & Kashmir.
