Punjab thrashes J&K by 7 wkts

Rajkot, Oct 02: Formidable Punjab thrashed Jammu and Kashmir by 7 wickets in an easy contest of the U-19 Women’s T20 Trophy at Sanosara Cricket Ground-A, Rajkot here on Wednesday.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, J&K scored a paltry total of 64 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
Manya Banotra top scored with brisk 32 runs off 23 balls, studded with 5 crispy boundaries, while Mahika Singh Rana was the only other batter to touch double figure mark, scoring sedate 10 runs off 48 balls.
For Punjab, Mohini Rana Singh Rana took 2 wickets, while Surbhi, Akshita Bhagat and Parineeta Saroha claimed one wicket.
In reply, Punjab reached the target easily in 11.2 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus winning the match by 7 wickets.
Alisha top scored with 27 runs off 25 balls with 3 boundaries, while Divya and skipper Vanshika Mahajan contributed 20 and 10 runs to the total respectively.
For J&K, Ananya Dogra and Mahika Singh Rana was claimed one wicket
Jammu and Kashmir will take on Punjab in the next outing at Sanosara Cricket Ground-A, Rajkot tomorrow.
