Srinagar, Aug 30: Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA), in collaboration with Collegedunia, organised a special conference on “Digital Punjab – Transforming Education Through Technology” with the mission of making Punjab the No. 1 Destination for Higher Education.According to a statement issued here, the conference was inaugurated by S. Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab as the Chief Guest. S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Member of Rajya Sabha, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Sh Sumandeep Singh Walia, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab was special guest. Social worker Karan Gilhotra, Plaksha University was also present. Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, and Mr. Sahil Chalana, Founder & CEO, Collegedunia, presided over.Bains and Sandhu also flagged off PUCA delegation to Kathamandu and Srinagar. Earlier also the delegation has organised education summits in Bihar, Jharkhand and North East with the aim of creating awareness among masses that Punjab is a destination for pursuing higher education across nation.Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that Punjab has rapidly moved from the image of “Udta Punjab” to “Padhta Punjab”.On the occasion, various education leaders, including Karan Gilhotra, Manjit singh, Dr Jagjit Singh Dhuri, Dr Gurmeet Dhaliwal, Ashok Garg, Mohit Mahajan, Rajesh Garg, Nirmal singh, Rajan Chopra, Dr Gopal Munjal, Satyam Bhardwaj, Dr DJ Singh, Parveen Garg were present.
- Satnam Singh Sandhu, while addressing the gathering, remarked that Punjab has always been a frontrunner—whether in the freedom struggle, in disaster relief, in setting the tradition of langar sewa, or now in striving to become Number One in Higher Education.
Dr. Anshu Kataria emphasised that PUCA has been consistently working to safeguard the interests of self-financing institutions while showcasing Punjab as a global hub of higher education. Sahil Chalana assured Collegedunia’s continued support in digital transformation of higher education through technology platforms, transparent information, and student-focused services.
