Srinagar, Jul 07: More than a hundred prominent activists and young individuals from across the valley joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday.The joining ceremony was held at Church Lane, Srinagar, in the presence of Ashok Koul, the BJP J&K’s general secretary (organisation), Waqf Board Chairperson (MOS) Dr Darakshan Andrabi, Former MLC S. Charinjeet Singh Khalsa and other BJP State team, the party said in a statement issued here.As the new members were welcomed into the party with BJP Patkas, Koul highlighted the party’s commitment to development and empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the participation of the youth reflects the trust the public has in the BJP’s vision for progress, good governance, and stability.“The BJP is dedicated to the betterment of every section of society through our promise of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,’” Koul said. He expressed confidence that the party’s approach has endeared it to the people, stating, “Today, the citizens believe that Jammu & Kashmir can only progress under the leadership of the BJP.”Among other prominent people, those who joined the BJP were Bashir Ahmad Bhat (DFO), Abrar Ahmad (Independent Assembly Candidate), Vijay Koul (Former NC, JDU Leader), Mehraj Rather (Apni Party Leader), and Syed Imran Ali Bukhari, according to the statement.Newly joined members expressed their confidence and faith in the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the statement added.
