Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police has arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Uri at a checkpoint established at Nambla Uri, intercepted one person. During his search, 4.20 Kgs of contraband Cannabis Powder like substances & cash 2K was recovered from his possession. He was later identified as Mohd Shareef Sheikh son of Baba Sheikh resident of Nambla Uri.He has been arrested and shifted to PS Uri were he remained in custody.
Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Uri and investigations have been initiated.
