Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have arrested 2 persons and seized 4 vehicles in Baramulla.
A Police spokesperson said, ” A police party led by SHO Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Shri Imtiaz Ahmad-JKPS seized 4 vehicles (2 tippers and 2 Excavators) and arrested 2 persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah Kunzer. They have been identified as Ab Majeed Sheikh son of Ab Rahim resident of Mangloora and Zahoor Ahmad Wani son of Ab Salam Wani resident of Kunzer. However, the two accused (drivers of Excavators) managed to flee from spot and efforts are on to nab them.”
“Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kunzer and further investigation has been initiated”, he said.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
