Srinagar, Jan 15: Jammu & Kashmir Police on Monday arrested the “most wanted” and “notorious” drug peddler in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police spokesperson said the team of Police Post Delina headed by IC PP Delina at a checkpoint established at Juhama Market, intercepted one person.
“During the search, 270 grams of Brown Sugar-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession,” he said, adding, “The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Mohd Ayoub Shah, son of Abdul Khaliq, resident of Ladoora Rafiabad. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Baramulla where he remains in custody.”
The cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at police Station Baramulla and investigations have been initiated, the spokesperson added.
