Samba, Apr 06: Former minister and J&K BJP Vice President Surjeet Singh Slathia on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hat-trick in the upcoming general elections will consolidate the gains of peace in Jammu and Kashmir and steer the Union Territory to the highest pinnacles of progress and development.
Addressing the Karykartas at Village Sarna, Chila Danga and Gujjar Nali in Samba on the occasion of the BJP’s Sathapana Diwas, Slathia said it’s a moment to reflect on the party’s journey since its inception to becoming the world’s largest political force.
“Rooted in the ideology of nationalism and cultural resurgence, the BJP has evolved into a significant political force shaping India’s destiny. Its commitment to development, good governance, and inclusivity has been pivotal. This is an occasion to renew dedication by the cadre to the principles of democracy, integrity, and progress, ensuring a brighter future for the nation in general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular,” he said.
Slathia said the BJP has been working for the upliftment of all with focused attention towards weaker and marginalised segments of society. He said social justice is key to the harmonious growth of the society and referred to various initiatives by the BJP-led NDA government during the past over nearly a decade in this regard.
“These have resulted in a discernible transformation in the lives of the people across the country as also in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, adding, “Path-breaking” initiatives undertaken in the Union Territory have given an unprecedented fillip to infrastructural development, industrialisation and reinvestment.”
He exhorted the Karykartas to fan out in their areas and generate awareness among the people about the measures taken with regard to the development and economic emancipation of the people in the first two tenures of the Modi Government. A strong and vibrant BJP is the answer to surmounting challenges facing Jammu and Kashmir, he maintained.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included the President women BJP Samba Sonia Thakur, Vice President Mohan Lal Sharma Vijay Singh, Rajeshwar Singh President Sports Cell Samba, Mandal Vice President Satpal Sharma, Naik Ram, Mohinder Singh Mankotia, Karan Singh Mandal President, Vikas Sharma District General Secretary BJP Samba Sarpanch Ramesh Singh, Surinder Singh, Gulzar Singh and others.
