Srinagar, April 02: In a significant boost to healthcare accessibility in Jammu and Kashmir, Paras Health Srinagar has been officially empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). This development will enable eligible beneficiaries to avail cashless and paperless medical treatment, significantly easing the financial burden on economically vulnerable families.
The multi-speciality hospital has also been empanelled with other major government schemes and institutions, including Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) such as the Airport Authority of India, Power Grid, NHPC, and BSNL. This expansion of empanelment ensures that a broader section of society can now access specialised and high-quality medical care at Paras Health Srinagar.
Under PMJAY, beneficiaries receive the Ayushman Bharat Golden Card, a digital health ID that entitles families to cashless treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh per year. This initiative aims to cover nearly 50 crore people across India, focusing on providing financial protection against high medical expenses for low-income families. A senior official from Paras Health Srinagar stated: “With our empanelment under Ayushman Bharat, we are committed to bridging the gap between affordability and advanced medical care. This initiative ensures that no patient is denied treatment due to financial constraints, allowing thousands of families to access specialised healthcare without worrying about hospital expenses.” As an empanelled hospital, Paras Health Srinagar will now provide advanced medical treatments under Ayushman Bharat across multiple specialities, including—Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Urology, Internal Medicine, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, Emergency Care and Dialysis Services
Dialysis treatment, which is a critical requirement for many patients, will now be available cashless under the Ayushman Bharat Golden Card, ensuring uninterrupted care for those suffering from chronic kidney diseases. To access benefits under Ayushman Bharat, eligible individuals can register for their PMJAY Golden Card by visiting an empanelled hospital or an Ayushman Mitra Kendra with their Aadhaar card and other identification documents. The PMJAY e-card is essential for availing free treatment at empanelled hospitals, ensuring seamless access to medical care without financial hurdles. Beyond PMJAY, Paras Health Srinagar is also strengthening emergency healthcare by offering free ambulance services within a 5 km radius of its Emergency Room. This initiative is expected to improve emergency response time and facilitate quicker access to medical attention. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure, experienced medical professionals, and trained nursing staff, Paras Health Srinagar is reinforcing its reputation as a trusted healthcare provider in Jammu and Kashmir. By integrating government-backed financial aid with cutting-edge medical services, the hospital is playing a pivotal role in strengthening India’s healthcare ecosystem and advancing the nation’s goal of universal health coverage.
