Srinagar, Feb 08: Aspirants of various professional courses on Wednesday complained about J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) for delaying the counselling, leaving the students in lurch.
A delegation of aspirants of B Sc Nursing, paramedical, GNM, GNM Later Entry, 10th based paramedical told Rising that the BOPEE has delayed the next round of counselling for the last many months.
They said that BOPEE has done one round of counselling of GNM aspirants. The second round of GNM was not done. For B Sc Nursing students, 3rd round was not done and the 2nd round of 10th based paramedics was also not done.
“The seats are vacant in Kashmir but the authorities are not going ahead with the counselling which has left all of us in a depressed state,” said a student.
The students said that they have contacted the BOPEE authorities many times but no action was taken on the ground.
The applications of various courses were submitted by the students in May 2022, the exams were conducted in July and the results were declared in September.
Indian Nursing Council (INC) had set the deadline for counselling of various courses on 31 December 2022. Later on, the deadline for BSc Nursing was extended to 31 January 2023 but the last date for 12th based paramedical, GNM and GNM Later Entry was not extended.
“The second round of counselling for 12th based paramedical, GNM and GNM Later Entry is not done yet and the deadline has passed. We contacted INC as well but they told us to contact BOPEE. The authorities are putting our careers at risk by causing further delay. There are almost a thousand seats vacant in Jammu and Kashmir but they are delaying the counselling rounds for unknown reasons,” said a student.
