Srinagar, July 04: With the highly anticipated SANJY 2023 pilgrimage just around the corner, Mayor Junaid Azim Mattoo of Srinagar city, accompanied by Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and a team of officials, conducted a special visit to the Panthachowk Yatra Camp. The purpose of the visit was to personally inspect the arrangements and ensure a seamless experience for the devotees.
Upon arrival, Mayor Junaid Azim Mattoo emphasized his commitment to providing the best facilities for the expected participation of thousands of devotees in this religious event.
Under the supervision of Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan, the SMC has undertaken several initiatives to improve the infrastructure and amenities at the Yatra Camp.
One notable improvement is the installation of state-of-the-art toilets and bath stations at strategic locations within the camp area. This step aims to address the basic sanitation needs of the attendees, promote hygiene, and uphold public health standards.
In addition, the SMC has taken meticulous measures to maintain a clean and litter-free environment throughout the Yatra Camp. Waste disposal units have been strategically placed, and dedicated personnel have been appointed to ensure regular cleanliness. The officials have also implemented recycling initiatives to minimize the event’s environmental impact.
During the visit, Mayor Mattoo interacted with the officials and volunteers involved in the preparations, expressing his gratitude for their dedication and hard work. He encouraged them to continue their efforts in creating a safe, welcoming, and spiritually enriching atmosphere for the pilgrims.
