The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has succesfully completed the admission process for the 2025 batch of B.Tech students, with over 871 candidates admitted across all 8 engineering disciplines. The admissions were conducted smoothly during 20th – 24th August, 2025.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. B.A. Mir said that the admission process was carried out in a highly professional and transparent manner.
“So far this year, out of the 899 allotted quota, NIT Srinagar has admitted over 871 students across different branches of B.Tech. Our teams worked tirelessly from 8 AM to 8 PM to ensure a hassle-free experience for students and parents,” he said.
Prof. Mir lauded the efforts of his team, including the Associate Deans, ERP official & staffs, and other members who worked tirelessly to ensure smooth admissions.
He also acknowledged the valuable support of the Dean Student Welfare, Administration, and essential services such as the Health Centre, Sanitation, and Security, who collectively ensured that students and parents received all facilities under one roof.
“We even achieved a record admission of 231 candidates in a single day, which is a remarkable achievement. We are equally thankful to everyone for their support who made this process smooth and efficient. Even the Registrar and In-charge Director personally inspected the admission process, which further boosted the morale of the teams,” Dean of Academic Affairs said.
Prof. Mir further said that final round of counselling for the remaining eligible B.Tech seats under JoSAA/CSAB will be held on August 28, along with Ph.D. admissions. The PG admissions were also held from 18th – 19th Aug 2025,” he said.
In his message, Director NIT Srinagar Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia congratulated the newly admitted students and praised the efforts of the academic team. The admission process was conducted with utmost efficiency and transparency,” he said.
Prof. Kanaujia added that NIT Srinagar is working hard to enhance its infrastructure, laboratories, and student facilities. “We are committed to offering a vibrant academic environment that encourages innovation, research, and holistic development,” he said.
Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Atikur Rehman, also expressed satisfaction with the arrangements during the admission process.
“The seamless conduct of admissions is a testimony to the collective effort of the institute. Our priority was to provide a student-friendly environment, and I am glad parents have appreciated the services,” he said.
Prof. Rehman further stressed the importance of teamwork. The success of B-tech admissions this year shows what we can achieve when everyone works with dedication. From documentation to counseling, everything was streamlined,” he said.
Meanwhile, several parents expressed gratitude for the arrangements. Mujeeb Khan from Jaipur, Rajasthan, whose daughter secured admission in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, said the entire process was smooth. We did not face any difficulty, and all facilities were available under a single roof,” he said.
Dr. Seerat from Srinagar, whose daughter was admitted to Civil Engineering, appreciated the dedication of the entire staff. The way students and parents were guided reflects the professionalism of NIT Srinagar. We are satisfied with the arrangements at the institute,” he said.
Another parent, Balwan Singh from Rajasthan, whose son got admission in Mechanical Engineering, also expressed satisfaction. “Everything was well-coordinated, from documentation to counseling. It was beyond our expectations,” he said.
