Srinagar, Sept 03: Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh, has issued directives to intensify security measures, including the activation of naka checking points on various routes. He also emphasized the need to fortify the area domination plan and leverage modern technology and human intelligence for monitoring activities in the region, both at the borders and in the hinterland, to prevent anti-national incidents.
Meanwhile,  In a bid to bolster security and thwart terrorist activities, Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh announced the establishment of operation posts jointly manned by J&K Police and the Army in border areas. These posts are aimed at further augmenting the anti-terror grid and thwarting nefarious attempts originating from across the border.
The DGP visited Poonch and Rajouri, the twin frontier districts of Jammu zone where he chaired security review meetings with officers of Police and Army. He was accompanied by AIG (Training/Policy) PHQ JS Johar. He chaired these joint review meetings at B G Brigade Hqrs at Mendhar, Poonch and at Kalakote in Rajouri.
At Mendhar Poonch, the meeting was attended by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Dr Mohammad Haseeb Mughal, Army Commander Brig Deepak  Nayak CO Sambhav Sagar, SSP Poonch Vinay Kumar and other jurisdictional officers. The  meeting at Kalakote Rajouri was attended by Madhusudan Guru, CO 63 RR, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Dr Mohammad Haseeb Mughal, ASP Nowshera, Rafi Giri and other jurisdictional officers.
During the security review meetings, DGP Dilbag Singh assessed the prevailing security situation in these districts, with a particular focus on infiltration attempts, narco trade, and drone activities from across the border. He expressed appreciation for the joint efforts of the Police and other security forces and urged officers to work collaboratively to provide a more secure environment, especially for residents in the challenging terrains of Rajouri and Poonch.
DGP Dilbag Singh also emphasized the utilization of modern technology and human intelligence to monitor border movements and activities in the hinterland, with the aim of preventing anti-national incidents. He called for an intensified manhunt against drug peddlers, highlighting that agencies from across the border exploit the drug trade to target the region’s youth.
He also discussed about one incident wherein members of a particular community were targeted and said that such attempts are made by the anti-nation elements to harm the communal harmony. He directed for strict measures to prevent such incidents. The DGP directed for strengthening the anti-terror grid by enhancing the human intelligence network besides the modern technology. He applauded the role of local police in recent successes in neutralising terrorists and also appreciated the role of civilians particularly the VDG in anti-terror efforts.  The officers from army and police apprised the DGP regarding the present security scenario and the measure in place on anti-terror front.
