Budgam, Dec 26: After the construction agency has completed most of the work on the boys and girls hostel and guest house of the National Institute of Fashion and Technology (NIFT) Srinagar, the authorities are going to shift the boys and girls hostel to the main NIFT campus until the end of this month December.

An official from the district administration of Budgam told Rising Kashmir that the central government has allotted and provided 237 crores of rupees for the construction of the megaproject campus of the National Institute of Fashion and Technology at Ompora Budgam.

Under this project, the administration block, academic block, auditorium block, design studio, handicraft and handloom museum, housing block, commercial complex, community centre, and guest house will be constructed as per this mega project of the NIFT Campus Budgam. “In which the most works like a guest house,  boys’ and girls’ hostel has been mostly completed in the campus,” an official said.

He said that the Deputy Commissioner of Budgam has already visited the campus two times. “He took spot stock of the progress made in the construction works going on at the campus, through which the pause of the ongoing works on the campus was accelerated.”

“The Deputy Commissioner has already asked the construction agency to complete the remaining works of the boys and girls hostels on the given time for the hassle-free shifting of boys and girls to the hostel building at the earliest,” an official said.

Adding that the boys’ and girls’ hostels will be functional by the end of this month, December, for the students.
