Srinagar, June 15: The historic corridors of Biscoe School in Srinagar were abuzz with excitement on Saturday as Nazir Ahmad Khan, a distinguished alumnus, released his highly anticipated book, “Biscoe Boy’s Echoes of Time.” The event took place in the school’s auditorium, drawing a large crowd of students, teachers, alumni, and esteemed guests.
The book, which chronicles the unique experiences and enduring legacy of Biscoe School, generated significant interest among attendees. The chief guest, Khurshid Ahmad Ganie (IAS), officially released the book, marking a significant moment in the school’s history.
Khan shared with the audience his meticulous process of gathering stories, photographs, and anecdotes to vividly depict life at Biscoe School and beyond. He reminisced about his days at the school during the 1940s and emphasized the profound impact the institution had on his life. “This book is not just a memoir but a tribute to the institution that has shaped countless lives over the last 140 years,” Khan remarked.
Reading excerpts from his book, Khan brought to life tales of friendships, challenges, and lessons learned. He highlighted the school’s emphasis on holistic education, character-building, and community service. Khan also paid homage to the educators who had significantly influenced his life, describing them as mentors who broadened students’ horizons.
Khurshid Ganie praised the book as an inspiration for current students. “Khan’s book is a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of resilience and excellence that Biscoe instilled in its students,” he said. “It captures the essence of an era, bringing to life the stories and experiences that have defined the lives of many who walked the corridors of Biscoe.”
The event was attended by Director of Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Society Parwez Samuel Kaul, former bureaucrat Roma Wani, and other notable figures, making it a memorable occasion for all present.
