Jammu, Jan 05: “Sports should be the basic part of our life,” said Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzrat Gull on Thursday during the inaugural ceremony of the New Year T20 Cricket League which is being conducted at KC Sports Ground here.
The league is being jointly organized by Veterans Cricket J&K and KC Sports Club Jammu, and supported by J&K Police. The slogan of the New year T20 League is “Let’s pledge to make Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir”, whereas the sponsors of the league are Narayana Hospital Katra, Horizon Group, Game Changers and  KC Sports Club.
The Secretary Sports Council, who was the chief guest on the occasion, declared open the New Year T20 Cricket League by releasing balloons in presence of Ramesh Kumar Bhat, SSP, Rajesh Gill former Ranji Player/Member of Indian Cricketers Association, Avinash Uttam, Ashish Singh, Sanjeev Sharma and RP Singh.
While speaking on the occasion, Nuzhat Gull said, “Sports should be the ingredient of our life because a good sportsperson is always disciplined to take every challenge of life, and becomes a good leader. A good sportsperson is always away from negativity and drugs. And when a sportsperson represents his team and wears the jersey of the UT and plays games in other states, he becomes a part of the national integration which is the need of the hour because when the nation is there we are there and the nation is because of us, so sports should be the part of nation building, Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Fit India and Better India.”
